I purchased an AK fuel sender a while back .. pretty sure they weren't $70 like they are now. Anyway ... the fuel guage needle goes way past F even prior to it being full. As in way past .. I mean you can't see the needle. Are there any adjustments that can be made or is it just a defective product? What really sucks is I know for sure I don't have the freakin' reciept for their 5 year replacement warranty.
On the instrument cluster regulator you will see a flat copper strip sticking out from where the metal halves are crimped together, this is what grounds the regulator. I have seen two or three lately where I took a pair of side cutters and crimped the metal halves tighter onto the copper strap and fixed the gauge acting just like yours. HTH Reggie
"What really sucks is I know for sure I don't have the freakin' reciept for their 5 year replacement warranty." ~~~> It is a violation of the MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT, 15 USC, section 2304(b), for them to require a receipt. The act states, in part, " The warrantor shall not impose any duty other than notification upon any consumer as a condition of securing remedy of any ...product which... is defective..." This language has been interpreted by the FTC, which makes the rules, to mean no receipt required. CR
