Ok so as I took my car out one Sundays with my buddys Malibu 383 stroker and decided to to run them. First run was a rolling start tossed into first told them on count of three go. So we gun it at three, im having wheel spin like crazy (didn't have my slicks on) but I was still with him, tried to into second and missed a gear and he got me. Well next run I decided to go in 2nd instead of first. We went at three and when I gunned it started to bog but then I got her to go but it was already to late. Well a red light popped up and we were slowing down and then my car died out, pulled over to the side and popped the hood open and saw I wasnt getting any fuel so I said ok bad fuel pump. Went to go buy one installed it and it still didn't work. So I just towed it home and waited till my day off and installed a electric fuel pump on her and worked great but didn't have any power . I took off the fuel pump block plate stuck a screw driver in there and the cam eccentric was broken on the inside. So I tore off the time cover and noticed I had slack on the timing chain so I replaced it with a double roller, I took of the bolt the screws into the camshaft and it was completely stripped out. I was driving it like that for a week:/ my car was at a big time loss of hp I can feel it. Well I reinstalled a new eccentric and put it all back together and it feels great now. Only problem ive noticed now is that when I give it more gas you can hear it bogging out, could it be the cam went bad with the bolt stripped it caused it to move just enough to mess it up? It is dot to dot and on one too. I sorry for the long story but I just wanted to share with yall my mav could stay with a 383 beast compared to just a 302 ;)

Thats what people say but I made sure it was on dot to dot and on one before I tossed on the timing cover back on. Someone told me it might be a broken spring or a rocker arm. It was weird cause I had given it gas and it stopped but then I let go and pressed it again and it came back. Im gonna check it tomorrow, to hot outside. It hit 102 here today

Sounds like ignition timing or accelerator pump.

Ok just finished working on the mav right now. And!!! It was timing and a loose rocker arm. When I was turning it over with out the valve covers I can see on cylinder six the intake side was not even going down. So I re tighten it to wear it had little play tossed it back together and she runs like a dime now. I even had some extra time (before it hit 102 degrees out side) to replace my bushing on my traction bars with energy suspension bushings and I can feel a good difference with it.
