havent been able to make it to 1 car show yet this year.had an accident at work.i didnt see a sump pump pit and plunged my right leg in it.i had a work order to turn the water off and pull the water meter out of a house that was to be demolished.as i was falling my left arm caught the corner of a 4x4 post and tore my distal biceps tendon off the bone.they had to graft a cadavor tendon to repair it because work comp took so long to approve the operation,my tendon coiled so far up into my shoulder that they couldnt pull it down.just thought i'd stop in and give everone a holler and wish em a nice summer.i've got 1 more month til they start strengh traing, until then i cant use the arm for anything.good thing i'm right handed.thank god for vicadin as well.LOT O PAIN

Wow, that has to hurt. Work comp is probably the bigger pain. Just another case where money, time and unnecessary pain would have been saved if they acted quicker.

You had me wincing the more I read this thread. OUCH!!

I was sure hoping you would make it to the MCCI Roundup Nationals. I know you have talked about it for years, and being so close, and having missed it last year....

...maybe you can still make it this year. Maybe there is always next year. Maybe...maybe...maybe.

I was wondering if u had left town "relocated/moved". I been intending on giving u a call... just putting it off. Sorry to hear abt the accident. Ironically, I had a fall the end of June that aggrevated a work related injury to my left knee. The knee was first injured decades ago. I still have my papers stating the nature of my 1972 injury. My medical professionals will submit claims to workers comp to see what, if any thing they will pay. I am in treatment at present and will find out nx wk after my mri, what needs to be done to that knee. Fortunately, I don't have any pain associate w/ the injury.
Bottom line, I am using a cane to assist my walking and possibly will not be able to make the RU... right now not lookin to gud. Hopefully, I will be able to make some of the out of town events I usually attend in September.

    thanx

thanx for the well wishes.you should have heard the pop when the tendon ripped off the bone craig.dammit i know,i finally have the car in the condition where i want it to bring to the round up.if the therapy goes quickly maybe i still can.because work comp waited so long to approve the surgery it was a snowball effect.your supposed to have this operation 4-5 days after the injury,i had mine 7 weeks after i fell.what should have been a 45 min to and hour surgery turned into 4hrs and the therapy would have been about 4 months.hell i was imobilized in a metal brace locked at 90 degrees for 2 months because they dont want you to even move that tendon graft.the therapy from this point will be about3 more months.finally the scar would have only been about 2-3 inches long!mr graham i turned 50 this year and with the the 21 someodd yrs i have with the water dept i have approx 3 years and 180 days left till i can retire.we'll be in kentucky so fast it'll make your head spin!

Been retired since 99. Had this injury in "72" as a result of a fall on the ice. Second fall in "82" another fall on ice. I worked outside for 35+yrs; I can step outside now in cold weather and immediately my knee feels cold... even wearing long underware. Thanks for "wishin us luck".

That looks pretty nasty. When you mentioned the tendon ripping off the bone, that gave me a chill. Glad to hear the vicodins are working for you. Work comp definitely sucks! I've had two herniated, collapsed discs(bone on bone)in my back for 16 months and i'm still waiting for authorization for surgery. Unbelievable!
