Lokar Trouble

has anyone had any issues wth a lokar kickdown cable? [C4 transmission] the bottom lever on the lokar dosnt go on at the right angle, it wants to sit horizontal istead of at a downward angle like in the instructions.

 

Id call there tech line , ive not been overly impressed with the few aod cables id bought from them for the same reason.

What was wrong with the rod on yours?

 

i have headers and the factory kickdown rod wont fit. I may just modify the kickdown lever on the cable and make it work

 

I had to mount the bracket on a different bolt than the instructions indicated. Can't remember for sure, but I might have disassembled the cable and turned the bracket to get it to line up right. If you need it, I can take a picture of the way mine ended up.

 

that would help alot, the bracket that attaches to the kickdown shaft itself is the only thing giving me trouble

 

Weird. Mine went on with no trouble at all. Have you tried flipping the lever?

 

yeah but it didnt seem to work that way (flipped it upside down), before i did my V8 swap my I6 kickdown rod pushed down on the original set up, im gonna keep playing with and see what i come up with. the cable kit is designed to pull instead of push

 

Lokar Kickdown Bracket

Here it is.

 

I've got a Lokar cable on my AOD, very simple, not a bit of trouble out of it.

Doesn't the kick down on a 6 cyl C4 work backwards from a V8 C4?

 

I've used lots of Lokar stuff, always works amazing.

 

What is the part number on that cable? I'm looking for one for my car. Thanks!!!

 

Mine worked fine also.

 

I remember having to bend stuff.. Wish I knew if it works.

 

I got it working, had to mod it tho, I think my car is just wierd
