I was finally able to pick up a 1970 Mav with a 250 6 cylinder. It was sitting for a while and I want to rebuild the carb. I know its a Carter YF and I looked through past post and all the links that show where to get a rebuild kit no longer work. Can anyone tell me where to get a kit and which one to use? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Just did mine a couple of weeks ago, they had the kit in stock at my local CARQUEST. I think I paid $19 bucks for it. Here is a link that helped me out shows the complete build process, runs about an hour long. A regular parts store should have the kit or be able to order it for you, just stay away from autozone. I've uses kits from Oreillys and Napa without a single issue.
I was on napa's website and they have 2 different kits. http://napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=CRB25613_0185980240 http://napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=CRB25575A_0185980238 I'm gonna stop by the store tomorrow and see if they can help me figure out which one I need, but in the meantime if anyone has any input please help. Thanks again guys.
