Mike, my a/c was a kit made up by a man who has since died. I got with Jimmy Collins(a/c man), and he said the best thing to get is a Vintage Air kit, or Old Auto air kit. He said he uses them now, as the company that made mine is out of business. I'll send you his phone# via pm. BTW, how have you been? Hope all is well. Later, Earl
Thats kinda the route I was thinking of going. I had tried to do a search but it is hard to do on my phone for some reason. THANKS to all for the help.
I did Vintage Air in mine, which was easy because the car was completely apart at the time. It would be doable, but not without difficulty in a driver...
I bought a complete heat/ac system from Classic Auto Air. There is a write up about the install in my Comet GT thread but unfortunately the pictures are not there any more. I have tried to contact Stefan to see if I can go back and edit them to reinstall the pictures. Anyhow, the system operates on 2 slide controls and a 3 speed fan so hooking up the the Maverick panel is easy. It is also more compact than the "heat only" Maverick/Comet system.
I take it that you used a Mustang Kit since nobody makes a Maverick Kit. I notice they have 3 different kits for different years...what year Mustang Kit did you order?
At this point I have to recommend against using March's Ultra series brackets for A/C.. The A/C bracket is junk.. (This kit specifically: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MCH-30186/. I have the non-power-steering version, but the A/C bracket is the same.). Of course, if you're keeping the six, it doesn't apply to you.
