Flex plate

    I have a 74 Maverick that I had the trany rebuilt. The person that is putting the tranny back in says the flex plate and the starter line up plat is bent,does anybody have any ideas?? It is a 200 six.

    Never head of a starter line up plate :hmmm:
    Could it be a Block Plate he's talking about?

    Its the thin plate between the engine and trany.. He said people call it different things..

    Just bang it make out so it will be straight. No big thing. When you bolt everything together it will straighten out.

    Well you know that is what I thought. But I am not the one doing it. I bought a new flex plate (less than 20.00) I thought I would try to find the other one but could not. Wanted to give the car the best chance it could get. I told him to bang it out and try it.:thumbs2:

    when it gets sandwiched in-between the motor and trans, it will flatten back out.
