I love the wrecking yards, it’s like the happiest place on earth! Never know what you will find or what you will see but you know at some point during the day you look over your shoulder and there it is, something way cool you never expected!! I always look forward to junk yard days! Looks like our pick a part places. We have stupid regulation here (CA.), they even distroyed perfectly good engines during the whole cash for clunkers deal. I do hate when people rip parts out, we get allot of that too, nothing can be done about it though. Sometime you run across a true find, one time I found a set of Shelby Magnesium Wheels, they were original and in pretty good shape. Looking back now, I wish I would have kept them. The one below is real close to what I found, only paid $15 for each wheel

We have four LKQ yards here ... they were formerly a local chain that got bought out, and still have a bit of that familiar vibe. I like these yards, but don't know how different they may be from a standard LKQ built from the ground up.

If you go to their website, they have updates online as to cars recently placed out. Two of the yards post pictures.

Being in a urban area, the cars are only available 2-3 months usually.

Cause they don't make new parts for our Mav's, comets. At least not many. So if the part is in great shape its worth it.
Plus its fun to see what they have...........or in most cases what they don't have.

I like going to the JY like a woman like going to Walmart. Last year while at PaP...a guy came up to me with a great big smile on his face so big it made my face hurt looking at him. He was telling me about the 427 side oiler he found in a old '65 pickup truck. I had to go see this and sure nuff...4-bolt main and all. He was so excited that it got me excited watching him being excited. It cost him right at $100 to take it home with him. You don't know whats out there if you don't look.
