If it was a 2-door, I'd cry, but as long as the occupants of the car are okay, no tears here.

You guys making light of it, just because it is a 4 door ....... I really hope it is just some form of bad humor. :( ...... If not, you really need to get a reality check on being a compassionate human being.

I'm sorry for your loss Bartikus ....... and I'm really glad you were not hurt. :)

Sad some people can find humor in this. 2 or 4 door that doesn't matter. I know you put a lot of time and hard work in this car. It's great you didn't you get hurt, hope insurance makes it right so you can start over.

Bartikus, I'm glad your OK, sorry about your car though:(
X4.......To say there is nothing lost is very mean and inconsiderate. To me having a 2 door owner tell me my car would make a nice parts car is like every mustang owner telling them there car is a useless piece of crap cause its a maverick! And how would you feel if your car had a lot of sentimental value? Like a first car even if its not desirable, if you lose it you can never get it back.

yeah i did put alot of work into the car and have gotten alot of you don't see those any more from alot of people. but in the end it wasn't my first car so i am glad about that and i wasn't hurt is the main point. but on the plus side the falcon wagon i just went and looked at seems like it could work out. i have a bubble bobble arcade game that i was going to sell to get another car and he might just trade me strait across for it. i figure if i get the falcon the engine, transmission, rear end, and front disc break spindals will work great on the car. by the way i agree with people on here a 4 door mav is still a mav. my daughter loved that car and she is pretty upset that it got "broken". she wanted me to fix it at first but i had to tell her that i couldn't and that i would be getting a new car. now she is saying daddy's car is broken and new one. i think thats the worst part is my daughter will not be able to ride in it again. yeah it is still a loss of a mav. i was looking for a 4 door when i bought it to make it easy to put my daughter in the back seat.

well it looks like i'm going to be replacing the maverick with a 1964 ford falcon deluxe wagon. so part of the maverick will live on in the 64.:thumbs2:
yeah it's not a mav but it is still pretty cool.

Man, those pictures hurt me just looking at them. Sorry to hear the bad news. At least part of her will live on in another vehicle and she will not be forgotten.

here are some pics i hope it works out with the guy who owns it right now. it doesn't have a title so i'm calling the dmv tomorrow to check on it. it is pretty easy to get a title on a car in the state of utah that hasn't been registered in over 10 years.

I would look over your Maverick driveline components very thoroughly before I bank on using them in another project. Your vehicle sustained quite a substantial impact! You have to be so careful of things getting bent (even beyond the naked eye). Judging by the new size and shape of your engine compartment, the driveline has certainly been pushed around. Check your driveshaft. If it's bent at all, start thinking about what got pushed around to bend it.

I'm not trying to be a "downer" but I'm just trying to keep you from maybe buying a car that you plan on fixing with parts that may never be useful. And a lot of this type of thing doesn't rear it's ugly head until you get it all together and start running down the road and your fillings are being shaken out by a bent crank, or tail shaft or something like that.

It sucks that you (we, the Maverick Community) lost a good car, and I'm glad that you were unhurt and that nobodyelse was in the vehicle with you at the time.

yeah i am a little concerned about something being bent in the drive train but looking under the hood the motor ran for a couple of turns after the radiator got slammed into it. the mounts are not broken. it does look worse then it is around the motor. i'm going to start the car one more time after i pull the front of it off. i'll make sure the engine still runs before i put it in the falcon.
