I just finished installing the Addco 3/4" rear sway bar and some KYB Excel-G shocks on the back. Tomorrow it gets new coils, the 7/8" Addco swaybar up front, and a pair of KYB Gas-A-Justs. And new tires.

I expect the car will feel very different next time I drive it! Probably gonna feel like it needs an alignment too...

I'd go with an 1-1/4" front sway bar since you have a 3/4" in rear. Or 7/8" up front and 7/16" in rear.

Didn't even realize I had options there. Well if it gets tail happy I'll know what to do...

I don't think you have an option in the Maverick aftermarket. Just stating the rear sway bar is too big for your front sway bar.

Then there's a whole bunch of us running around with oversized rear sway bars... Either way, I just drove it, and... Just... Wow. This is the best thing I've ever done to this car. The engine, the AC, all that other stuff I've been doing to the car for the past five years... Falls somewhere underneath this. I am blown away by the difference.

Well, y'all can add me to the list of folks who had to weld plates on the frame for the rear swaybar... It wasted no time at all trying to rip the frame rail. Don't know why I even bothered trying to do it the "right" way.

    Worth it, though!

I missed it first go-around. I can see him now coming out of a turn...

    I can only hope... :D

Seriously though, a lot of people on here are running this same setup. This is what the only aftermarket supplier of Maverick swaybars builds for a Maverick. If you want something besides stock this is pretty much what you get. So why pick on me specifically?

Now, I haven't tried throwing this car around turns with an empty trunk, but with my toolbox (bungeed in) and a jack in the back, the car corners perfectly flat. It seems very well balanced. Yes it will oversteer if I'm really beating on it and it breaks loose, but it's controllable and I like that a lot better than understeer.

Not picking on you, not me anyways, Jeff was just pointing out what would be better. I have the Addco set up also.

I'm not picking on you or anyone else running this swaybar...just stating that in my opinion…the rear bar is too fat for our light car and will lift the inside tire if you push it hard in the turns. :Handshake

Isn't there a thread on this forum explaining how to install the 66 mustang sway bars? Pretty sure it says there are near direct bolt-ons. I don't recall I just know I have them on my wishlist on summit because I read on here they fit with little adjustment.

If someone could link the post to the thread showing how to mount 66 mustang sway bars that would be incredibly helpful.

I have a 66 Mustang front sway bar on my 73 Green Grabber, it just bolts on like any other sway bar, but the end links are on a bit of an angle compared to the way they are stock, but Scott Drake makes an adjustable end link, that I'm thinking of using.
