    Hey guys,

the little nob that locks and unlocks the door is not there. And the rod fell in the door. I would like to start locking the door. What part can replace that rod and how hard is it to fix?

    Thanks

Gotcha. Sounds like you need a replacement rod, or braze the broken one back together.

I think any Maverick/Comet lock rod will work. Could always place an ad in the wanted section or go to a junk yard.

When we were trailering it somebody had to crawl in the window to get in and hit it guess. Then it fell in the door

are you sure the rod broke? The screw on part is pretty long. I've broken them off in other cars and had the rod fall in the door, and never once had to replace a rod. Heck I think you'd do a lot of damage before you snapped the rod.

Have you taken the door apart yet and looked at it?

Seems like that should be a first step. Find out what actually needs replacing.

I unscrewed my knob in the locked position and the rod fell right in the door. So if someone crawled in the window and pushed it down to lock and then broke the plastic knob off at the end of the rod, I would expect it just fell in.

Well it was out for a little and just bent. I tried to unscrew then knob and then it broke and fell. I fell like I saw it bent and broke at the rod. Its been a while so I could be wrong. Also, do I only need to pull the door panel? Or is there more that needs to be removed
