I thought I would start a new thread regarding the locking gas cap that has "Maverick" imprinted on it.

If you have one on your Maverick, can you take a couple pics for me?

I would like to see a picture of the outside of filler neck that sticks out of the rear tail light panel, and a picture of the back of the locking gas cap itself. I would like to see the slotted pattern on both the gas cap and the filler neck.

I bought a NOS gas cap a while back and it doesn't seem to fit any of my mavericks from the 69.5' to my 74'.

I would like to see what's different with my setup, maybe I am doing something wrong. The cap just feels really sloppy as if it is going to fall off!

Question, if you do have it on your Maverick, what year is your car?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I have a NOS one but not on a car. Right now it is packed away because I am taking my daughters old room and making it my "Ford Maverick" room. A place to put my computer, stereo, and all my Maverick memorabilia. I will see if I can find it and get some pictures of it sometime today. I will also see if it fits on any of my cars.

You might want to check your lock. When i worked at Gateway Clean Air Program we tested them and when locks were broke it didn't seal right for some reason. Go to part store tell them all the info and get one. Try it and see if it works then you will know if thats how it fits. After done just take it back and tell them it was wrong one or whatever other story you wanna tell :p
