I'm going to need a stock glass Maverick hood, full pin on no hinges at all. There are four sources I have found on the web Glasstek in Naperville, IL Showcars/Bodyparts unlimited, Canada? US Body Source Riverview FL Unlimited Products Hesperia, CA From the forum search I've learned that Glasstek & Showcars are a big no no, any experiences with the other two?
glass body parts US body source #1 in my book. I ordered mav doors got them to the day four weeks from order date. They told me 4 to 6 weeks. Fit perfect too!!!!
I disagree with the Glasstek statement I have been dealing with them for years and had nothing but good luck with their products. I have a 2" cowl bolt on hood on my Maverick and a 4" pin on on my Comet plus all the parts I've gotten for customers. They are a job shop so delivery time can be long certain times of the year but their products have always been first rate.
I just noticed your from Springfield. Crites is in Columbus. They will let you pick it up and save money on the shipping. I think I save $130 picking it up. Here are some pics of it when it was first fitted to the car http://smegnl.medina.oh.us/index.php/maverick/76-crites-hood
Is there any chance you would consider using a steel stock hood ? The reason i ask is because i delt with 2 of the 4 glass companys you listed in your first post. I needed a front valance and called Showcars first, guy took down my order - then proceeded to jack the price up on me by $100 from what he listed the valance on the net, uh no thanks and to top that, he wouldn't take payment by credit card, i was told i needed a Pay-Pal account, uh ---- NO THANKS. I was BEYOND MAD. I called Unlimited, lady took my order and i paid with my Card ( no price jacking by this company ). I was thrilled, a part i needed was on the way, until i came home that night. After work i decided i would do some searches on Unlimited just to see if anyone had anything to say about the company ( i know, bassackwards ). Horror story after Horror story about this company on the net, 99.99999% of the bad comments were about the company's HOODS. A few said they had sent their hoods back and were never reimbursed for their returns. OH BOY, I FEEL LIKE I JUST GOT, ( insert thought here). The lady i ordered through told me it would be at my door step in two weeks, longest two weeks of my build. But two weeks later, the part was in my kitchen when i got home from work. I opened the box to find a decent fiberglass part, the gel coat isn't great, and the primer is on the cheap side, but all in all, it was a good part for the price. Not sure any of that will help you, just thought i'd share.
The canadian place took my money, said the part was on backorder and not ever expected to be made again, and no refunds. But I could use the money already spent toward another purchase. Luckily, they only got me for 30 bucks or so. I refused to deal with them any further.
MaverickMan makes carbon fiber hoods in grabber style and raised cowl. I think he is also going to make a standard flat hood soon. His quality is second to none.
I agree about MaverickMan. I have been in his garage, seen his "wares", and those hoods are Primo #1! And priced well, considering that most of those fiberglass hoods will need hours of sanding to get them to fit nicely, and his fit out of the box.
I have a fiberglass deck and rear bumper in my shed {don't know which Co. made them} but they are just as, if not more heavier than the stock ones
yep he is right ^^^ thanks for the kind words! way to busy to start doing things but i will get these and cowls done again for sure. planning on before winter for sure. thanks Scopper! on what you said.... you know that i know that but people will never listen. lol! you don't know how many emails i get telling me. i should have just bought yours in the first place. and for the record US B..Y don't fit worth a jack! i know that is why i ended up doing these hoods in the first place. there was NOTHING good out there IMO.
