Z bar, four speed conversion

    Does anby one know if the 6 cylinder z bar (clutch pivot) wikk work for a V8 application or if it can be modified?

    It can be modified. The lower arm must be reshaped and moved to work.

    Thanks, I got my wife a 83 ford T-bird, Turbo Coupe, that got totalled. A good friend of my Dads had a 74 Comet that he gave to me. A 302 with power steeing, A/C, and a fair body. I picked up a 302 block, roller cam and crank from ford racing for $580, got a speed pro forged piston set, a heavy duty overdrive toploader. we'll be keeping it a Comet, but getting smaller early bumpers and loosing the ugly trim, probably paint it red with semi gloss black stripes of some sort.

    A buddy of mine in high school had a lime/gold metallic '73 GT and we called it the same name as your username.
