Driver's outside door handle hasn't worked for a while... Pulled the panel and the rod was laying in the door - I attached a pic of it. Looks like the little fastener for it is missing (wasn't anywhere inside the door)... Any ideas on how I might re-attach the rod so my outside door handle works again?
That is an awesome catalog! Looks like it's there... but not sure which one it is. Thinking maybe the mustang one? #B-13163
Nope... not sitting in the door either. It's the clip on the threaded end of the rod that I need. It attaches the rod to the door latch mechanism
This is nothing to brag about but I fixed this on my Falcon with two small zip ties. It's been holding up for about 8 years now. One zip tie around the rod with the second zip tie between the rod and first zip tie. The second zip tie holds the rod to the handle mechanism. Kinda looked like 2 chain links made with zip ties
I sooo thought about rigging it somehow. I just never wanna have to take my door panels off again lol
What is the clip supposed to look like? I bet you can find a compatible one at a good hardware store, or maybe Graingers. I take it back, I didn't realize what clip you were looking for. Those are extremely difficult to find good matches for. One of the Japanese machines I used to work on used those for the access door props. They broke a lot, so they changed the design to something more robust. And then I could no longer find the part for that machine anywhere.
