Hey guys, New to the forum, haven't poked around too much so I don't really know if theres already a thread out there answering this but does anyone know of a good website to find parts for mavericks? I live in Oklahoma and I'm rebuilding my 71 Maverick. I don't want to do a factory rebuild, I'm leaning towards a racer that I can still drive down the road. Starting tomorrow I'm stripping it down to the shell, and doing a piece by piece rebuild. My dad has a fully equipped shop (body shop, mechanics shop, the works) After I get it stripped down I'm going to be building a roll cage, and piecing it back together how I want it. It has a 250ci l6 right now and an automatic c4 transmission on the floor. I need a place where I can find parts to rebuild a 302 and and your suggestions on a transmission and linkage that you guys have used and had success with in your mavericks. Sorry this is kind of long winded and all over the place but heres a summary: 1)Any suggestions on a great website to find parts for mavericks. 2)Links or information that could be useful when I'm rebuilding the 302 or 351 3)Suggestions whether to use a 351 or 302 4)Transmissions and linkage you guys use. I want to be able to drive it around town and still be able to occasionally take it out back and run the track. Thanks and any help is greatly appreciated! I'm starting this tomorrow and hopefully have it done and at my house by the end of July. I'll post pics if anyone's interested.
Thanks! First time on a forum so still trying to figure it all out. Definitely going to try out the search bar. Appreciate the help!
From Michigan NPD (national parts depot) and auto krafters are good sites to get hard to find parts. I prefer 302ci over 351cid, just a preference no reason I,m running a C4 with a B&M shift kit and shifter
The 302 fits much better with headers than the 351. For some good info on building a small block ford go to www.sbftech.com.
I used to run around Enid some, back in the day. Used to be a bunch of street racing out there. (When i was young and stupid).
