I believe introductions may be in order. My name is Dave and I've been lurking on the forum for a few weeks but I took the plunge this past weekend. I have a 2 year old grandson named Maverick. I've been looking for a project car for a while. Last Saturday I drove home a 1974 Maverick 4-door with a 302 V-8, automatic trans, air conditioning, power steering, reclining front bucket seats, butt-ugly deep pile carpeting, and a driver-side window that won't roll down. I'm so excited I can't see straight. I plan to rebuild the engine and trans and basically restore the car mechanically and cosmetically and give the car to Mav and his mom and dad. What young, growing family couldn't use a reliable, dependable, easy to drive daily driver, right? I'm sure I'll be asking for help and suggestions as the project moves forward. I'm glad y'all are here. Dave

Welcome from Panama City Florida ..... Dave, I only see one problem, it's a Maverick and you used the words..."reliable, dependable, easy to drive daily driver"
from Atlantic Canada! Your project and intentions sound very honorable and we'd all love to see the progress. Got any pictures of the "older" Maverick?
