Hope I am not insulting your intelligance, but have you tried to advance the timing? A degree or 2 should give you what you need. I assume you are running race fuel?(110). Also as far as intake goes, I would try the victor jr. or go a step better and run the super victor. Or figure out away to lose about 80 pounds. Good luck in your quest and nice car!:)

how about a 750 or 850 cfm carb. I prefer the 830 HP w/annular boosters as it works well with small displacement engines. I love mine--picked up .15 second, pulls harder on top end, also has a better 60'. You could also try to eliminate some weight (that's the easiest way). Limiting front end travel will help the 60' and mph as well. I used a couple 3/8 nuts to raise the shock up a little, this way the front end will only come up so far and not allow so much wasted motion during launch. Also keeps air from getting under the car at speed. The biggest thing I found (we ran 40 degrees of timing as well) was retarding the timing, but we ran RPM heads instead of the AFR's, so I dont know how well that would work for you. Retarding helps the upper RPM. It takes a serious racer to tune a car any more than what most folks do, especially when you get to the point where you are at. Now, you have to figure out ways to pick up that extra .1--and it becomes harder and harder. But it can be done, and is well worth the effort!! Good luck

keeping the front end down would probably help you a bit? how bout a 50 shot of n20?? that would work too :D and if 50 aint enough... 150!!

What type of spacer are you running under the carb?? I would suggest one of Wilson's 4-hole tapered spacers......

yeah bottle it! instant low 10's!

as for the victor jr... your not the first person to tell me that and actually had one on my car too and it slow it down a bit too... the victor jr seem to work best with high flow ported heads and a way big cam. if you ever read car craft they did an artical on my buddies 67 comet like 7 or 8 months ago. tell you what he did and what happened.

anyways nice looking car... by the way would love to put your car up on my web page too! Send me the info via e-mail. Heres link

I do not think NOS is what he wants. I think he wants 10.90's cause that is a heads up index class. I might be wrong. But then again, a little spray would help you go to fast, then you could always slow it down by way of throttle stop or some other means.

    Re

What gears are you runing? Where do you shift at?
My friend has victor jr heads on his 302 with about 10.1 compression about the same cam he shifts it at 7500 and he has 4.88 gears. Iv read the AFR heads like around 34 degrees timing. have you tryed less timing?

    Re

What brand is the converter. Sounds like it might be a little loose on the big end. I dont think ive ever seem a 302 run well with that high of a gear. But yours seems too.
