Where do you attach the grease fitting to the upper ball joint? http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...01723_638598_0_&vehicleIdForService=384322464 This product is a fit for your: 1977 Ford Maverick 5.0L 2BL 8cyl Part Number: FA606 Alternate Part Number: 10235 Warranty: Limited Lifetime
There is a opening in the upper control arn to access fitting, that fases either rear or forward depending on R or L side... Problem is not all are greasable...
It goes in a weird place, on the bottom side of the flat mounting plate, not on the ball joint cap as you think it would. The one I replaced on my 74 was like that, I like to never have figured it out myself. It forces grease through a channel in the plate apparently up into the ball joint. I always had the problem of mine coming out with the grease gun nipple. It's a drive in fitting, not a screw in like it should be.
That is the same a the McQuay/Norris joint I used on the ProMotorsports kit with the grease fitting on the bottom plate. My grease fitting screwed in that extra hole in the plate and is easier to grease than the Moog type with the fitting in the top. Good to know since NAPA no longer carries that type joint.
