yep, sounds like your fine, brief periods are ok.. and i agree with the erroneous temp from the hose being disconnected.

changed ignition lock. checked fire to all injectors, changed advance on distributer. getting ready to get front end aligned. ;)))

like any vehicle.. I would run your pcv valve, run a vacuum line to you distributer, and run a line to your heater controls and call it good...
