Would these rims fit on a stock '71 comet? I believe the bolt pattern is correct, I'm just unsure if they are too wide.

Lots of people have used them, you'll need spacers front and rear.

What size spacers do you think I would need? And where would I get them?

I wonder if you can order them in the correct back spacing for that same price?
thats the reason for spacers. off set is usually too far out gotta use spacers so they wont rub on the body if theyll even bolt on without spacers that is

I like the 17" wheel look on mavericks and comets

THose are nice, even better then the Ford Bullit wheels. I am thinking about taking mine off my Mustang and putting them on my maverick. Maybe Ill have to buy another set because the maverick wheels wont fit on my mustang. Hmmmmm.

you'll need at least a 1" spacer. I ran a 1" spacer in the front, and 1.25" in the rear with 17x9 polished Bullitt wheels and 245/45/17 tires and didn't have any clearence issues what-so-ever
