yeah i just got my new rims today! changing the look to more of the touring look...even though i had 16s on the car back in the early 90's.... gotta keep ahead of the game ;) bigger..... aragh!aragh! aragh!

    wheel company

i was so worried they wouldn't fit. But thanks to alot of you guys on suggestions and rear offsets... they do fit. if they were any small in diamiter they would his the cheap traction bar but because they are 18's the tires don't hit at all.

i went with a 18x8 with a 4 inch rear offset with a 255/40-18. the tires were kinda hard to find.. i found only 4 companys that made this size and only 3 that had the same tread pattern for the front (245/40-17's) as well. those were flaken, cooper and what i went with bridgestone.'

i also belive with the right rear offset and size rim you could put a 18x9 with the new 265/40-18 BFG Drag Raidal under the rear of a stock maverick.

anyways thanks guys for the info

    Very nice!
Those #'s help me out alot. I am going to have my slots widened this winter on the back and I was wondering how big I could go.
I have coil-overs so 9 inch should be "no problem".
    Thanks!

yeap! actually i wanna fit in with the SUV guys i was gonna go 22s... j/k

yeah i guess its each to his own.. but this cars going for a feature and it need to be up with the trend "Resto Mod, Pro Touring, Touring Drag, etc. look. If you check out the last hot rod they all have 17 and 18's on them now. also i need the 17's with the brakes i'm trying to get on this thing.

i'm not one to follow a trend i'd rather start it... i mean thats why i got into mavericks....but then again i don't think anyones done 18's on a maveirck either.

i'll let you all know the rear offset and tire size when i switch to 22s. lol

yeah i might... your looking at the stock rear ride height in the picture. it can actually go down a good inch no problem and maybe a 1-1/2 to tuck it just a bit under the wheel wel. i got the cal tracks for it but still waiting on my leaf springs, rear end, thrid member etc.. so can't do anyting just yet.

the front can go way down now. that 4 inch rear offset reall help on the front. just gotta do the front brakes first before i cut anything. probably cut the front spring another 1/4 coil.

i'll try to get full picture of the car.... yeah and still waiting on the hood.. i can't stand the hood scoop or just an air cleaner.

heh heh.... if i tell you i gotta take your soul

right now i have a 3 inch cowl in fiberglass that already been prepared and needs to be painted.

however the people i am having do the new hood have that hood right now so the only hood i have now is the stock one which don't fit.... if you think about it real hard you'll figure it out... i don't wanna say until i see it on the car. ;)

Nice BLING-BLINGS! (not a rice thing)

    I've got a set of 18's I'm putting on my 1985 BMW (735i - a regular "Chix-With-Big-Hair-Magnet").

I'd put some on my '96 T'bird if I could afford it.

    RE: attached pic
That's my buddy's Mini-Cooper (somewhat a BMW) along side my 'small wheeled' BMW. We decided to take them to the 1/8th mile Car Club Bash race one day. Crowd pleasers, they were! (Especially the Mini).

    Fun, fun, fun.
