Hi! recently im having problems with my mav, when im completely stopped and start moving the car feels like launching at 2nd gear (of course im not, its manual trans. and im at 1st gear) the car needs to rev a lot for moving and kind of fixes when its moving around 12 mp/h or 20 km/h, I guess if its something wrong with the carb because recently we changed the main jets, we were using #52 then changed to #48... by the way its a 302 with a motorcraft 2bbl with some mods inside (bigger pistons, ported heads and camshaft)

    Thanks for your help!

P.D. if you need more information please ask me, Im really having a bad time with this problem

If it worked better on the older jets, than back off and put in #50 and see if it improves, then go back to #48, or smaller if it keeps getting better.

everything else looks or feels fine:

the brakes are almost new, ehhm in neutral the engine is fine... the car accelerates pretty well in any other gear and doesnt causes any trouble, my only problem is at first gear and under 12 mph, the car tries to turn off, I have to accelerate a lot (I dont have a tach but I guess it needs to be over 3,000 rpm to prevent turning off) and sounds kind of unstable acceletation, revs start going up then down, up again & im at 12 mph in that moment (all of this happens at 1st gear) is it gonna die?
thank you so much for your help!

and remember if there is anything else you need to know, feel free to ask ok? (y)

    Thanks

Fuel delivery isnt up to par(lean mixture)...Float setting in carb too low...Accelerator pump not working properly(mis-adjusted)Ignition timing not set properly...Weak coil...

Yep its a pretty big list to run through for diagnosis. Kind of tough over the net. Make sure you have a good accelerator pump shot. Could even be a vacuum advance issue. Did you move vacuum lines with carb off??

Yep, sounds like either or both accelerator pump shot or low fuel level in bowl.
