just out of curiosity... how many 4 drs are out there? i dont see many .. mainly i see 2 drs. they make less or something?
The reason I have a 2 door is because it had everything I wanted to put in my 4 door. According to an old curb weight sheet, the 4 door Comet was lighter by 30lbs than the 2 door... I'm still trying to figure that one out.
I have a 73 4 door I got for free last week. I was going to part it, put everything into my 76' shell, and send the carcass to the junk yard. Then my brother decided he can't live without a 4 door so he is trading me a nearly rust free 70' for it in a few weeks. Fine by me! Really, all the Mav's are pretty much both of ours, but we trade around.
I`m making my four door as close to looking like it had the Grabber package as possible with deluxe interior to .And floor stick shift to boot . My friends think I`m wierd spending all the time and money on it . Becuase I allready have a real grabber. But I like the four door more.
Better watch your mouth or you'll be working on "your" car yourself and getting your own disc brakes, seats, rear end, brake lines, transmission, engine, radiator support... should I go on?. :16suspect
I have a 55,000 original miles 73 LDO Comet, auto floor shift, A/C, buckets and a stock 302 that purrs like a kitten. It's a great riding car...puts my Mav to shame. Here's a pic of the engine compartment.
I, like Rick, have a 40k original factory 302 4-door that was passed down to me by my grandmother 17 years ago. My black 2-door is great, but the 4-door is better. There's something about an unrestored car that can't be duplicated. I love my 4-door, I'll never sell it. When I figure out this new photo gallery thing, I'll put some more pics up. Sam
man you guys.. yall allmake my car look like crud... "i wish to aspire to your heights.." i jsut want mine running again.
heh, could be. Does anyone know anyone young that drove a 4 door when they were new? Seriously, every 4 door I can think of was bought originally is owned by a really old person, old when they bought it. 4 door, 302, pristine condition... there are at least two around here. One lady will not sell it, it was her late husband's first new car. I did a tuneup on it just before I bought my 2 door, sweet ride with under 60k on the clock, not so much as a crack on the dash. Paint was a little flat tho. Didn't need a tuneup, but it had been sitting, so we went through it.
