Wow! The car feels like a whole new animal. I guess losing 60+ LBS and going from a 2.48 1st gear to a 3.35 in combination with the 3.70s will do that. I really love it now. It does have a carb issue now though. I think it needs bigger squirters than it had before. It coughs when I roll into the throttle too fast. It recovers quickly but it does stumble alittle. The it murders the tires in first. If anyone has any idea what the carb problem is I'd like to hear your opinion. It did not have any problem when the C-4 was in it. The carb is a Holly 650 DP.

    You nailed the problem.

    Bump up the squirter size.
Gears are making the engine rev faster so it needs the fuel quicker.

If your running the stock T5 shifter your gonna want to change that eventually. 2nd to 3rd can get hard to find when your in a hurry. I put a Steeda Tri-Ax in mine, made a world of difference in throw distance and finding the gears.

    Question?

If your C4 was a floor shifter prior to the swap, does the 5 speed
shifter come through the stock location?
If not, how far off is it? If you had to cut a hole, is it centered?

    Thanks-

    Seth

Naa, a one legged man can drive your car. If he has the balls of course.

O so I guess its more of a 3rd pedal thing.....not necessarily a stick thing.

I have a hard enough time mashing the gas at pulling the shifter, I can't imagine dumping a clutch too:eek:

Speaking of the manual shift thing, I have a stock '93 Mustang shifter, clutch cable and quadrant for sale, if anyone is interested. If you are, let me know, by PM or e-mail. Congrats on getting the car fixed.

Its all in the coordination. Mind, feet and hands. Although all the right foot has to do is keep it mashed to the floor.

You become one with the car, grasshopper.

    That's how I feel...
With an auto, you are a passenger.
With a stick, you are the car.

Sorry I diddnt reply sooner. Yes! the shifter lines up with the hole. We had to custom make a crossmember but that wasnt hard and was cheaper than buying one. (that might not fit right anyway) My friend who made the crossmember was thinking of making more for a decent price. If some of you are interested let me know. Oh, and I am running a Hurst shifter. Thanks for the squirter confirmation I will be experimenting next week with different sizes. It still needs tuning but its a ton more fun to drive. BTW. All you guys thinking of the swap. At 65 MPH the C-4 with 3.70s ran about 3500 RPM. Now at the same speed in 5th it is at just under 2400 RPM.
