So, I ended up with a cute little '61 Falcon with a 4v 351C in it this week in a trade. It was not a planned addition, it just kinda' happened. What parts are interchangeable between it and my Mavericks?

I would guess not much besides the engine.

I had a 61 Falcon Futura that I drag raced for about 6 years, the rear ends are a direct bolt in and the front suspension will work as well if you take it all, with the handyman you have you could make just about everything work if you want to bad enough.

That's right, I forgot that you had one previously. That handyman you speak of is itching to throw a 5 speed in it and freshen its paint for this spring's season! It was originally a stick shift car, still has the pedals, etc. but has a C-4 it is currently. It has a narrowed 9", we haven't checked ratio yet and it is already caged, etc. with a freshened 4v cleveland with headers. Who knows what we are going to do with it yet.
Not a bad trade for a Challenger grill and decklid we just had laying around!

That was a sweet trade for sure, wish I would have kept mine but no space and Maverick addiction forced sale, besides it went to a good home. It was always a head turner just like a Maverick, wasnt a car alarm I couldnt set off with it. LOL

Enjoy it as it is really the first Mustang and the roots of the Maverick

I would imagine that the shock towers have been cut for a cleveland to fit in it, probably has or should have a mii front suspension in it, we want to see some pics dont we guys and gals.

I had a couple of 61 Falcons, as well as a couple of other years, in my younger days. One of my favorite cars. Of all the Falcons I owned, I wish I still had my 61 2 door wagon.

    Definatly a cool car!

btw i was looking at buying a '63 a little while back and the guy was telling me he swapped in a '65 200ci because the original engine was air cooled. ive never heard of an air cooled falcon??

The only way the original engine could have been air-cooled is if the pistons punched holes in the block as it grenaded. :rofl2:

If I found an early 2 door Falcon wagon, I would have a hard time walking away from it. That's because my wife would be dragging me towards it. :yup: I doubt she would even let me drive it much.

I have always said...if it wasn't a maverick, it would be an early 60's Falcon.
    Congrats!

I have always said...let's get rid of that ugly 'cuda, I think two Mavericks(or two early 60's Falcons) would fit there!
