Do i need to run a ground all the way into the block from the trunk? Or can i just run it the "frame rail" near the trunk and then ground the block to the body as well?

Rifht now my stock ground has one ground to the fender well wall and one to the block.

you should be OK with "frame Rail" grounding as long as engine and bay and firewall/dash parts are grounded and frame is intact.
    .
BTW - Battery power cutoff switches' on vintage Ford wiring require Alternator to be disconnected to stop engine from running ...

We have battery to frame rail, and block to body. Been that way for years now.
