hey guys I'm new here. Trying to convince the wife to let me pick this up before I was supposed to. Just wanted to know if y'all thought she was worth the $10, 900 tag.

'Looks pretty cool. I wouldn't pay $11k for it. The tail light installation is pretty janky.
    Maybe $7500 to $8k.

Looks like lots of " bells and whistles" .. For $10,900.00 you should be able to find something nicer. I'd keep
looking and let this one go by.. Just MO ..

Why do you care if other people think it's worth it? If you want it, go for it and cut the best deal you can. If you procrastinate too long you'll loose it cause I agree with the seller when he says "DON'T NEED ANY HELP SELLING".
Personally I don't like the paint stripe scheme or the wheels and would not spend additional $$ to personalize.

Thanks for all the info guys, I really appreciate it. I was just looking to see if the condition matched the price tag. I'm not a huge fan of the paint scheme and most certainly repaint, but I deploy in July to Al Fujairah and talked the wife into letting me get one when I got back. This one just kinda showed up and had me thinking. It's got the 9" and disk brakes w/ ps and that appeals to me. I have owned mustangs and fair loaned in the past, but recently feel in love with Mavericks and need to get one!

I think the price is reasonable. I wud want to check out the underside for rust and do the gallon water cowl test, if agree to by seller. Probably cost twice that to build it, if you were not capable of doing a lot of work.

Gonna have to get better photos since it's a 4 hour drive to where the car is. What's the cowl water test? Pour a bucket of water over the windshield and see if it leaks into the car?

Yep! That's the cowl test. I agree w/ Rasit; if y0u think it's worth the price - it's your money. I wud try to see if the owner wud bend on the price -- If not that wudn't stop me from buying it.

If the tail light installation is half-assed, I have to wonder what else was half-assed.

He said he doesn't need any help selling, because sellers on craigslist are often contacted by dealers who want to "help" sell their car for a fee, not because the car is so great it'll sell like hotcakes.

Pour water in the cowl vent and see if it ends up on the floor in the car. You cant build one like it for 10 K so, I feel the price is fair. That said, I would want to see proof of the 9" as well as the C-6 trans seller states is in the car. 8" is easily mistaken for a 9" axle. most likely has a C-4 and 8" Not a bad thing since those are factory installed in Mavs. C-6 wont fit without tunnel mods. I would ask for solid proof of claims made about the car in the form of pics/reiciepts etc...Good luck!!

If the wifee gives the green light I'll shake him down for all the info and do the cowl test. I helped a buddy of mine rebuild his on a 66 mustang and I'd rather not do it again even if I could do it. I Haven't been in Mavericks long, but from the pics the car looks solid for the most part. Thanks for all the help and info. Hopefully if things work out, I'll be posting new pics as a maverick owner! Thanks once again for all the support and info guys!!!

There are other members on here in your area if you wanted to talk to someone in person or have someone who knows these cars look at it with you...

If all that is stated in the ad is done, you will NEVER build that for less. If you like the car, and it passes the cowl test, and drives nice, and the paintwork is good, I would say it is a good deal. I will also say that for 11K, you can find others of similar condition......so by all means, pick one you like. A roller motor and 3.55 axle would have me salivating though.

I'm trying not to become attached since I don't have the approval from the wife yet. I once bought a boat with the semi approval of "sure" and I never heard the end of it.... I guess you hear what you want to hear lol! My assumptions of the car based on the reviews from you guys are pretty much what I thought. Now to convince the wife...
