So I decided to upgrade my carburetor to something a bit more spicy than the standard issue 1BBL. Instead of taking the standard approach to a Holley 5200 series, I went with the good ol' brand new, emissions (non) friendly 2300 series 350CFM (that's a 160CFM upgrade for those that don't keep score) So, I had it overnight shipped along with a 969-2044 adapter. The adapter touched with the manual choke linkage during mockup and so I went ahead and filed it down. Unfortuneately, I didn't perform an adapter to manifold mockup and it didn't fit. So I'm out $50 dollars for that nice adapter. It will make a nice paperweight though:thumbs2:
I'm now going to order the 969-2025 hoping it will fit (a lot of people say it fit their 5200) and its much cheaper. To give you an idea of what the carburetor looks like compared to the Carter YF, I've attached a picture - taken at night because I'm that dedicated.

You can always use a two barrel to two barrel adapter that is flat and have the log milled flat and the hole in the manifold cut out in an oval to fit the new carb. The adapter is the one for bolting a Holley on to the old 283 two barrel.
Note the lack of numbers - it has been a while since I did this and I am unsure if I even kept the records. I mounted it on a 62 Falcon with a 200" to make it go better with the C4 that I put behind it. It was back in 1972.....
