my buddy has a mustang, and all of a sudden, he started popping fuses left and right for his brakes. we tried tracing the circuit, but can't find anything obviously wrong. replaced the light switch, still shorting somewhere. anyone know if there's a component prone to going bad in these things or something? Also, his uncle gave him a thermal breaker as kind of a temp fix for the brake light circuit, but that ended up frying his MSD box, where abouts are these things hooked into the same wiring? I'm completely lost on this one Thanks Shaun
Just keep in mind that with DC current in a car, the whole metal structure of the car is part of the electrical circuit. This could somewhat explain how the ignition got involved. This is part of the reason why tracking down electrical problems can be so confusing and frustrating and why electrical problems can be so expensive to get fixed at a shop. I don't know what is wrong with the brake light system on the car but maybe it will help you understand what is going on a little more.
You might try searching http://www.corral.net/forums/ If you didn't find the answer, then I'd post the question there.
yeah, it's a hatch, I'll pass the info to my buddy, hopefully he can figure this stupid thing out this week Thanks guys Shaun
