so my alternator light came on and its draining my battery, ive replaced the alt, voltage reg, battery, and the alt wireing harness and even after all that my new batt is still gettin drained. Does anyone have any ideas here? if so id love to hear them!
You will need an amp meter and hook it up in series between the battery + cable and where it connects to the solenoid. It should read some current indicating a load. Then start pulling fuses until it goes to zero. That will tell you what circuit it is on.
Is the alternator light still on when the car is running? It could mean you have two of the wires on the alternator hooked up backwards ( have seen this before)... Also, is the ALT light still connected and not burned out? If the ALT light is not in the circuit with the alternator it will not charge the battery when the car is running...
