    Hey everyone,

Once again I appreciate everyone who gives me their 2 cents worth of advice or comments.

Is it true that a mid 80's chevy alternator has an internal voltage regulator? And can they be used on mavericks? Im finallizing my parts list JUST for the engine rebuild and it comes to around $275. I'm doing all the labor so I'm saving so much money. :bouncy:

    Thanks again,

    Jeff

Just do a search under one wire alternator. You can buy them brand new and the are internally regulated. Do the search - lots of past posts about the conversion.

Many of the one or three wire internally regulated alternators out there are based on the Delco alternator used in GM cars(including cars from the 80's). There are Ford internally regulated alternators...not sure when they started using 'em, but you can find these alternators at Jegs or Summit.
