I need help finding a radiator for my 77' 302 v8 maverick without A/C and A/T. I was reading threw the posts and found that you could buy an Aluminum radiator for $180 on e-bay that would work for a maverick but not sure what's the difference between a regualor radiartor and an Aluminum one? From what i heared aluminum ones are better because they keep your car coolier. I dont know? Just want something that wll fit and work on my maverick can any body help me?? I posted the link to the radiator on e-bay at the botom. P.S. What is a trans coolier and do i really need one?? Thanks

i have an aluminum radiator in mine but it is a race only car. i also have a seperate tranny cooler. for my street car i think i would go somewhere like checker or pep boys and order a stock replacement radiator. they come with a trannie cooler built into them. and yes you do need a tranny cooler especially in texas where it gets pretty warm in the summer. i would make sure i got the v-8 radiator if there is a difference.:)

Keep in mind that a crossflow radiator like the one in the link is going to require fabricated mounts. The widest that will fit between the frame rails is 26" and will require trimming the crossmember and core support.

sell that one should fit then....its 23 wide....

i am also curios as well..i have over heating problems and think that the aluminum radiator might solve my problems...

recent inquiries into my situation as led to 2 differnet problems...timing is off...i kinda figured that myself....and my 600 cfm carb is a little lean for my 9.5 compression and 484 cam... now i didnt think that the 600 would be too small...but i had figured that the 750 was way to big...now i have heard other information that makes me think i have too small a carb...so i will try and jet mine...and see where that takes me

Any universal radiator will take some fabrication to make it work. If your not comfortable with the fabrication work then do as Don said. If you want a bolt in aluminum radiator call Griffin. Since you have an automatic transmission make sure the radiator has a cooler or plan on running an external cooler.
