Anyone Going To The Goog Guys March Meet Race?

Good Guys rescheduled the race to This coming weekend. Any Maverick guys going to be there?

If so, stop up in the tower and say Hello

 

I'll be there :bananaman can't believe the weather lately, but better safe than sorry!

Will you be in the tower Bob. Didn't know we could just go in the tower....but maybe I will pop in for a quick Hello!

Intimidated by the tower? You drive a Comet and a simple building gets to ya..... You are already braver then those wanna bees in belly button rustangs. I'll be in the first room on the right as you walk in the door. Mike English (NHRA), John Madijasik and good ol me will be on the PA all weekend long.

The door is open to any of you to come up and say HI. Heck you may even be interviewed about track conditions from a racer's point of view and the March meet in general.

See ya there. You will know me by the red and Black Goodguys shirt and my grey hair... Oh wait that discribes too many of us. I'll be the one acting goofy on the PA.... Actually, it's no act.............. Just ask for me and as long as ya don't look like you're a cop or from the IRS we will let you in.

how can you put up with mike english for a whole weekend. tell him don graham from drr said hello.

 

Wish I was racin, but I'm one of the guys that keeps ya informed on who lost, won or dissasembled their engine from the drivers seat over the P.A. I'll be in the tower for all but T/F and Funny car. I'll be on the starting line then to get a snoot full o nitro.

 

Will tell him ya said Hi Don . He's only doing the Fuel Cars so we will pass on the stairs.

I've known Mike for over 20 years now. Met him when he was racing bracket 4 at LACR. He would go out first round and then buy into the second chance bracket. He did that so often one year I just called it the "English Bracket". Mike and I have been doing the NHRA Hotrod Reunion together for the past 5 or 6 years and worked the Street drags with him at Pomona way back when.

 

Ya aint gonna be there? And I was lookin forward to it.

 

I know, maybe next year.

 

Mike and I were having fun until the rain started at about 10AM. Did see Rocky run one pass. There were two Mavericks running too.

Told Mike Hi for ya. I can't repete what he said though (lol)

 

How'd Rocky do Bob?

 

It was just a time trial run and he ran an 11 sec pass I think. We will start with his class at 8:AM Saturday with more time trials. Eliminations will be on Sunday as long as it stops raining. Still raining now (10M)

 

Bad weekend racing, err um crashing. Rocky won first round today, but after that things got bad. T/F ran ok, then we went to AA/Gas and all h-ll broke loose. The Sun was beating on the track and two gassers on two separate runs nailed the wall. No injuries, but at least one car was totally used up. After about 3 hours of clean up and discussions the race was canceled.

Got to meet Rocky and that was one of the bright spots of the weekend.
