Got my B&M Hammer shifter in (almost). Darn thing is hitting my cable kickdown bracket that's attached at the trans... Can't get the B&M cable into it's home :(

    It says "No" :naughty:

    Anyone else have this problem?

I think I just needed to vent more than anything... I'm gonna go lay under the car and stare at it some more:16suspect

There was a bracket that didnt work with my shifterr, and i believe in the instructions it told me to cut it off. pretty sure that may have been it..i have a manual valve body anyways so it didnt matter though, do you still got the instructions for it?

Never mind i just went to loot at instructions and it appears to be the original shifter linkage that you "remove the shaded area" from so....i will now join in and stare.

Haha I only stared at it for a second before just bending the kickdown bracket out of the way... I know engineers get paid alot of money to design those things a certain way, but I said screw it.

Now the cable's binding somewhere... It's only going into P, R, and N. Think I might have to make the hole in the floor pan bigger, but gonna try rerouting the cable to on top of the crossmember first. Trying to find some pictures of how ppl routed their's now...

It has been a long time since I installed my B&M 80797 Street Bandit. It did not want to line right up either. I recall that I had to "strategically bend" a bracket enough to make it clear something or another, but not so much as to make it bind and not work.

But yeah, it was not a direct fit without some "modifications"...

Alot of times it is bound at the top where it goes through the floor on the hump. I am not sure if mine and yours are going through the same. I have a Mega shifter. I had to put the hole further towards the front so it would not be bent when it went through the floor/hump..
The hole started closer to the shifter.

@Scooper - Yea, I bent the kickdown bracket instead of the floorshift one cuz I knew that worked before. If it did work now, I'd know what went wrong (y)

@blugene - That's what I thought at first too... but I finally disconnected the cable from the shifter and it still will only go into P, R, N and D. So I don't know what's up now haha :slap:
