Bad ground or short

    Been wiring the sequentials on my mav and finally got it ready to test out. They work great!!! EXCEPT when the front t/s bulbs are in place, then everything gets eratic and fast blinking. I have changed the t/s switch, cleaned the contacts on the fuses, grounded everything I can. Am wondering if it might be in the ignition switch/wiring, have a new headlight switch but an old ign. switch. Replaced the front sockets. Park lights work, wipers, dash lights, heater, but the front t/s make the rears go goofy. Got any ideas?

    i dont know how sequentials work but i do know that with a thermal flasher, you need the proper load on the circuit or it wont flash or go to fast i think. i would switch to an electric flasher if you haven't done that yet.

    Did you use relays and a new power source for the sequencer or just hook it up to the existing wiring going to tail lights also did you ground each tail light socket individually, I hate electrical problems and I am an electrician. Bryant is correct about flasher but when I did mine I just used the existing flasher and they work fine.

    I drew up a diagram of how mine are wired and is in the tech section if you can make sense of it.

    At least some of the sequential kits require a electronic flasher...

    Al long as you're getting 12v through the switch, wiring, etc, that isn't your problem...

    I used an original style thermal flasher with mine but I opened it up and bent the contact some to slow it down. Took a little trial and error to get it right. I have an electronic flasher that I was going to make adjustable by putting a potentiometer in where the resistor is but haven't fooled with it yet.

    Pick up a heavy duty flasher. That should do it.

    I did some more work on my t/s's and have found the problem to be in fact, the flasher, as you guys have said. I have the turn signals working great, but the hazards dont work as well, but they DO work. So I am going to try a heavy duty flasher tomorrow as soon as I can get one, Thanks guys!!!!!

    There are 2 flashers, one for the directional and one for the hazards.

    As Bryant said above - they need to be matched to the load (number of lamps) in your circuit.
