bell housing

    Will a 250 bell housing bolt up to a 302 or will I have to get a 302 bell housing?

    pyro, jamie is right the 250 will bolt up fine. of course you're driving a ford. there's always exceptions. are you putting in a stock 302 with exhaust manifolds or are you going for headers. if you use headers you might need to get the small bellhousing, flexplate, and engine plate. this allows for the header clearance. i've asked before, but i don't think i got an answer, is anyone using the bigger bellhousing and using headers? did you have any clearance problems? thanks.:)

    I have the stock 302 motor and its orginal bell housing with headers and there have been no clearance problems with the housing.​

    I not sure about the headers probably not though I have not thought that far yet.:hmmm:

    I haven't even gotten the 302 yet.

    My buddy has one that I might get rebuilt or if I come across a real good one close to Tallahassee,fl that I don't have to rebuild I might just drop it in.

    I am going to send the tranny to get rebuilt and wanted to make sure I had everything in order before I sent it.

    dean, do you have the 157 or the 164 tooth flexplate?
