Both of my small bumpers (replaced the park benches years ago) are mounted, but not correctly nor sturdily. I need to weld in the brackets in the trunk, and only 2 bolts hold the front on.

I have been toying with the idea of driving it without bumpers until I can get these rechromed and mounted correctly.

Then recently, I have been noticing several cars in the magazines (mustangs and camaros, of course) running without bumpers in Trans-Am style.

Can anyone point me toward some pictures of mavericks without bumpers so I don't take them off and find that "it just don't look right"? Preferably finished cars without bumpers, not cars in the process of getting painted or stripped.

    Thanks in advance.

And please, no lecture about the damage my car will sustain if hit without bumpers. The small bumpers, especially mounted the way mine are, are worthless and would likely ADD to the damage even in a very minor bump.

Those are the only ones that come to mind.

Of course, mine looks nothing like that under the bumpers. Those look quite mustang-ish.

Currently searching the pictures on here to see if I can find any others that are more stock looking.

Why do you only have 2 bolts holding the front on?:hmmm: You had to have drilled those, so why not just go ahead and drill the other two? :hmmm: Only takes a few minutes. As for the rear, the brackets are sold by the Mustang houses, or you could just make some out of some steel that would do the same thing. The small bumpers aren't going to do much in anything more than a slight bump anyway.

I had the bumpers off my big-bumper car just for racing and because I thought it looked better without them. The body panels under the big bumper cars are COMPLETELY different than those under small bumper cars.

you can sorta see on the second pic, if you look over the railing, that there is no valence and under the grill is...nothing! on a big bumper car. same in the back.

i had no bumpers on my car for about 6 months. i didnt get any pics. the rear just doesnt look right with out one. the fron looks ok. it nees to be filled in under the head lights. ive thought about doing something like a 70 camaro rs split bumper look. i think our cars would pull that look off pretty well. i just am more into going fast than custom body work. i think it would look alot like the 66 shelby front end. of corse youd have to ditch the grill and do something about the hood latch suport.

I will check out the brazilians. Think I may just keep them where they are for now, though. Kinda got into a trans replacement today, and need to finish that up before I get back to cosmetics.

Um, nevermind. I went through all 16 pages of the foreign mavs and only 3 were without front bumpers, and they had crappy fiberglass doohickies stuck on...

No accounting for taste with some of those huh??? I dont like the look myself.Mavs dont lend themselves well to bumper deletes.Getting the rear nice and tight to the quarters/tail panel though...Thats a good look.
