Anyone have experience/know much about the transgo kits for the c4 trannys? It says that the stage 3 converts it to full manual. Since i know next to nothing about trannys, would someone care to enlighten me on this? Do you actually end up with a 3 speed manual that requires a clutch assembly that you run it off?

There have been some problems in the past with the TransGo "full manual" kit.
It is an inexpensive way to find out if you really want to run a manual valve body but it is NOT a constant pressure manual valve conversion. The kit keeps the modulator and governor..... neither is needed with a true manual valve.
It also keeps the forward pattern which can get you into neutral when shifting fast from 2-3.
The kit is half the cost of Jay's constant pressure forward pattern valve body from Broader Performance - but his works every time. Jay also sells reverse pattern valve bodies for around the same $250 price.
