anay one tryed to swap the new mustang engines +manual trans in a 70/71 maverick. car is fully striped down and need new engine and trans.

i'm watching fro recked 'stang and tough i could use a lot of parts from it
like seats, breaks, wiring harnest and all

i'm uesed to fabricate custom parts (i do this for a living) and electronic is not a probleme (GF is colege graduate in electronic science)

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
what kind of NEW stang are we talking about?

the 74-95 5.0L will drop right in.

the 96+ 4.6L/5.4L will need a different suspension to fit.

the engine is alot wider and taller on the top. you have to goto a suspension like a mustang 2 or something else that gets rid of the shock towers. there are a few people on this board who are puting the mod motors in there mavericks.

4.0 V6 from 2000 on up with a 5 speed stick and a centrifugal supercharger added to it is sounding like a nice combo to me.

The wife has an 07 Mustang with the 4.0/5 speed auto, and it is a fun car ... put that motor in something 1000 lbs lighter like a Mav and then add a supercharger ... then hang on .... it would run and get mileage.

The motor is no where near as wide as a mod motor. You would still want to cut the shock towers back a bit. Not sure what you would do for an oil pan though. I haven't measured, but I think that would be your biggest problem.
