How difficult is it to remove a column lock from one column, and install it into another? Also, can I use the column lock from an automatic on the column to a column with no shifter? Thanks for any help. John B.
If you have the key, and the steering wheel is off, it's easy, and they interchange. If you don't have the key....then it's a lot more work.
It also depends on what year each column is. They changed key cylinder styles (not sure what year) and the cylinders don't interchange. I found that out the hard way. But if they're the same style it's extremely easy to change them.
