i have been searching high and low for a replacement cowl, but cant come up with anything. the outer panel I have is ok. but the inner is pretty much gone, the heater box is just hanging by the hoses, will one off a mustang work? or maybe a Granada? it is a 1970
As far as a direct replacement, only Maverick/Comet cowls will work. Mustang patch panels are available from the aftermarket but require modification to fit. I am in the middle of replacing MY cowl right now. I was fortunate to find one via a "Wanted" ad here on the MMB under the Classifieds section. To fix properly, they are a lot of work. There are several members on this board who might have (and be willing to cut out) a good rustfree cowl. If you find one, just don't cut it in half to save a hundred bucks on shipping. Ask me how I know. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=92251 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=94318 Oh, and ...
If your heater box is hanging by the hoses, it sounds like your fire wall is rusted too. You might have a bigger job than just repairing the cowl floor.

I have a complete rust free cowl, may have the firewall section also. Feel free to email if interested. Mavguy70@gmail.com

the cowl is the only rust replacement panel I need for the car, I got the top cowl off this morning, the inner panel is pretty well all gone, firewall is good.
