When I pour the water to check the cowl do I pour it on the windshield in the corners or directly down the vent in the middle of the cowl????

I am doing this tomorrow and this has me concerned as it could be a bigger fix than I want to get into....I am not that good a welder..

pour it right down the middle of the cowl. But I use a different method, a strong flashlight shining down the cowl vent in the dark and someone laying under the dash when you can see just exactly where it leaks and how bad it all really is.

If the cowl leaks you can always fill the vents in.

even after you cover the cowl.. you will need to check the weep holes just under the rubber seal of the windshield, and the drain holes inside the fenders for areas for water to get it.. i had to completely seal off all those areas on my mav... and it still leaks
