I am building a Maverick for NHRA Super Stock CS. The rules require the radiator to be of stock dimensions, location and orignal configuration, i.e "downflow" must remain downflow. I wanted to use an aluminum radiator. I searched the internet and could not find a replacement specific for the Maverick. Be Cool makes 3 models for early Fords but they do not work, I tried. I called C & R racing radiators in Indianapolis. I sent them the original from the car and they made me this. The whole process took about 3 months. Once the plans were drawn and approved the actual radiator was made in 3 days. If any of you are interested I am sure the second will be easier to make than the 1st.

Looks great!! What are the specs (cores, etc) if you don't mind my asking. I am not going to need one for awhile, but (one day) when my new motor is finished, I will need a pretty serious radiator. Also, if you don't mind me asking, can you give us a ball-park figure as to what it cost you? Thanks, Preston

Looks great! I noticed that on your radiator the outflow is on the driver's side, while the stock V8 one exits on the passenger's side. What engine/hose setup are you using? Looks awesome!

I will let him tell you. But I have seen the car in person many times.....and let me just say that everything on it is TOP SHELF!

WE need to get him to post some pics of his 4 wheel disc brake set-up....now that is very sharp! There are plenty of very interesting things about this car....
Ashton, maybe you should post some specs.......you know engine/tranny and what not.........very high tech, thought-out and very detailed!

sharp looking radiator. what is the cost? that would have a lot to determine wether any one would buy one. i have an aluminum but it is a northern. had to make brackets but it was only about $160 and works good. definitely dosen't look as sharp a that one though.:) good luck with the car. i expect to see it in national dragster.:bananaman

    Cost?

The radiator with the fan was $695. Which I thought was fair. The Be Cool radiators are $589 plus another $180 or so for the fan. The fan on the radiator can be mounted in front or rear. I have the drawing somewhere, when I find it I will post. The core is about 3 1/2 inches thick. It has 2 rows of tubes. The intake and output are on the passenger side. I wanted adequate cooling for around 580 hp. John knows the car well because he has hauled it all over Louisville, I don't have a trailer yet and just got a truck about 4 months ago. I'll try to post more later about the other aspects of the car. Ashton

You can buy the Griffin from Muscle Motorsports for around $450. You can buy fan kits from Sumit for less than $100. A 16" Derale is only $120.

    Diagram

Hey guys, I finally found the drawing of the radiator. This drawing is the property of C&R racing so don't sell it to anyone!

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
    wow looks nice..

however i'd like to know what kinda of water pump you are going to put on it. cuz man that thing looks really thick! will it fit with the motor in the car?

cuz dude i know for a fact that radiator won't fit in my car.. its way to thick. i have the griffin that mavaholic is talking about however the way my car is now with my super charger pulley, i got only like less then a inch to the radiator. to to meantion not fitting a pulling fan behind it.

    otherwise looks cool!
