I rehab'd the gauge cluster this morning using the whiteface gauge kit off ebay from Whiteface Gauge Guy (the one that is NOT precut :( ). All went together well and it turned out nice. Picture was tough to take with all the glare, but it will give you an idea how it came out.

Between the guys instruction sheet and Ray's excellent tech article here on the board, it is quite an easy mod. The absolute hardest part is cutting out all the little windows with a exacto knife. Patients and a steady hand are required. (y)

    Enjoy

I have a question, do you know if they make the white face kit for a later year Maverick speedometer that only goes to 100 mph, rather than the 120 mph in the early years?

I've never seen a 100 overlay. You could look up and email the ebay seller "whitegaugeguy" to ask. If I had a 100 speedo, I'd switch to the 120 and just put in 120 speedo gear if needed.

What all would have to be changed to convert to a 120 MPH speedometer?

If you want to keep your hardware and just change the face of the 100mph speedometer. Ford has a colored gear on the end of the transmission side of the speedometer cable. You can buy different gears to change the speedo needle readings when you change rear end gears, go to a taller or shorter tire, ect... It takes about 5 minutes to change that gear. 1 bolt and 1 clip to get it out. That might be what you need to do. You can get a 120mph speedo from a boneyard and the speedo itself will be correct already without having to change gears. I do believe that it will swap without changes to the gear. I'm sure somebody has done this swap and will let you know for sure.

Just use a 120 speedo from another car. Will work fine. Love those white faces. sure looks way better than black faced ones. I really want to do my Sprint but then I'd have to redo the tach and other gauges.

My overlays have been sitting on my desk for about a year now. No patience to do the mod. Yours looks good and has inspired me.

    Thanks all!
I'm gonna leave it the factory green, as it will match the Ford Rally Clock I have in the console, radio and the heater controls as well. I did buy the #168 5w lamps for it. Rated 3cp vs the stock 2cp.
