maybe you could re-drill the mounting holes in the floor pan a few inches back?

Can you relocate them further back, or do you have to redrill the mounting locations in the tracks and seat frames?

I changed where the rails bolt to the seat frames. The floor is reinforced at specific places for the seats, I didn't want to get away from that support.

That is what I was thinking, along with the fact that the seat brackets tend to fit in only a small location before they hit bumps and dips and no longer sit flat.

It was real easy on mine, they are aftermarket seats with tubular frames, don't know what stockers are like.
