Hello I was wondering where to find a good inexpensive a/c compressor for my 76 mav. Used is ok, as long as it last me a long time and works well.;)

Cheap and reliable rarely go hand in hand.

Why not get yours rebuilt? How do you know it's the compressor?

I've got one I took off a 73 302 parts car. The belt was still on the car and the engine was running. I never checked the ac before I started stripping it down to see if it worked though. It's not frozen up so it's a good chance it would be okay. Would I guarantee it? Nope. It should be worth $40 though if you're interested. Might be quite expensive to ship as they are pretty heavy. I would guess $20-$25. Depending on where in La you are, might not be too far away if you ever come over to Mississippi or Alabama. I've also got lots of other parts if you need anything else. May be time for a short road trip.

A couple years ago, I checked with O'Reilly. Remanufactured for $100, or thereabouts.

    A quick search today found this...Murray - Reman York 209-210 Compressor W/ Clutch $209 with $10 core.
