ya know the butterfly like valve that could be on one side, and closed when cold, to channel hot air through the intake and out the other side, and then opens when hot? I looked and couldnt see for sure if it had one, i am leaning towards dont. So i thought i would ask the guroos.. later!! chris
My Sprint came out of Calif and doesn't have them and I've never seen one on a 72 but I might be wrong (happened once before)
NO! what?! that is IMPOSSABLE Ray wrong i believe it never happened yeha i dont think it came on them till 74/75
what year is that air cleaner off of? Cause mine doesnt have that round thing, but it has the heat activated dogggy door. I am guessing that round thing would be the vaccum motor for pullin the door closed early.. I am glad to here mine dont have the heat valve. One less thing to break.. later!! chris
Are you talking about the intake air heater or the exhaust butterfly that forces exhaust into the intake manifold to heat the base of the plenum? If you are talking about the exhaust side the answer is no - Ford uses the timed exhaust pulse to push exhaust gasses through the base of the intake manifold. If you are talking about the intake then the answer is yes, they are fitted with a hot air intake that is thermostatically controlled. I hope that one of my answers helps
