    1. Our solenoid looks like that. We don't know the function of those diodes? We have mallory series 85 distributor. can we use the same coil wire with the new distributor? If not should we just replace the old wire with a new one and run it thru the same route as the original? Or do something else?? Is there something special we should know about electrics before we can try fire engine up..

    2. How shold we connect the electric fuel pump. I read about the oil pressure sensor but i dont know where to get one by tomorrow so that wont do. Can i run a wire directly thru the igniton or should i use a relay. The pump isn't going to be too powerful(cheapest aftermarket pump). :hmmm:

Thanks again your answers and patience! We are trying to keep up the american spirit here in cold Finland :D

btw, we tried to order parts from summit and UPS shipping charges are over 300$ to Finland.

    1. Don't know what they are for(diodes) and I'm not familiar with the Mallory. don't think you need but not sure.

    2. Fuel pump should definatley go on relay. No backfeeding that way and easier to hook-up later on to a pressure switch

The diodes are there to prevent power from feeding back to the coil from some other component. They are arranged to allow current flow from the coil to something else.
This is not a good idea because if there is a resistor wire feeding the coil you are robbing power from the coil to power something else. What it is you can find out by un-hooking the wires. My bet would be that they go to a fuel pump - and they shouldn't.
