I have a 73 grabber with a 302 and power steering. I was wondering if I could exchange the 73 pump for a later model pump. For instance a pump off a 87 302 because I have a roller engine out of a 87 lincoln and I wanted to make a serpine pulley system work. Would that 87 pump work on the steering components of the maverick or will it be too much pressure?

I swapped in a roller 5.0 out of a late model stang, and I used the 5.0 pump. No problems at all, and the steering feels just like with the original pump. My stock lines even bolted up to the 5.0 pump.
